1 Installation

blueKiwi application is available both as Software As A Service or hosted on customer’s premises. In any case, installation is performed by blueKiwi own engineers or certified partners consultants and its cost is covered by fixed setup fees.

When in SAAS, product installation work is performed by blueKiwi internal staff on our servers and does not require any action from customer. When installation is required to be made on premises, blueKiwi sends technical consultants at customer’s site, completes product installation and testing together with customer’s IT representatives and provides installation and production guides.

In order to ensure in depth knowledge transfer blueKiwi Education Services team proposes as well a Technical Cycle Training that includes teaching about the application architecture and its installation procedure.

blueKiwi application is highly flexible and can be configured to stick to customers expectations. Configuration is part of the implementation process and aims at closely suiting each project’s business goals and organizational constraints.

Functional configuration typically includes:

  • Import of users
  • Structure of the personal profiles
  • Definition of the various groups, their type and list of their members
  • Discussion thread classification criteria (groups taxonomy)

 

  • Roles' assignment (super-administrator, group administrator, contributors, readers)
  • Application code of conduct
  • Launch kit (set of contributions and comments consistent with the expected use of the software)
In order to provide knowledge transfer to its customers, blueKiwi typical implementation plan includes user and administrator training sessions where trainees learn how to master all configuration features. On top of this blueKiwi Technical Support Team provides a wide range of documentation and support material with detailed explanations on all functionalities.divider
2 Customization

Although blueKiwi has been worked out to meet users’ requirements out of the box, it also provides customization features in order to personalize blueKiwi application and make it even more adapted to each project’s characteristics. The customization possibilities are designed to ensure forward compatibility with new versions and mainly address two areas: application look and feel and insert of additional information feeds.

The application look and feel can be enriched with customer’s logo and own choice of colours. In addition, the location of several components of the application such as the list of latest visitors, the new groups and users or the browsing section can be changed in the homepage.

Beside these display new possibilities, other widgets can be added to the application (either in the homepage or in additional pages directly accessible from the homepage) in order to enrich it with information flows coming from within or outside the application. blueKiwi provides in standard a series of widgets customers can dig into. Customers also have the possibility to enrich the application by adding their own widgets with data feeds from blueKiwi, from other company information system of from the web. blueKiwi or its certified partners can provide services to help developing these additional features.

2 Integration

blueKiwi application can be integrated with other applications in different ways:

  • It can be tailored to follow corporate authentication tools with corporate directories such as LDAP or Active Directory and Single Sign On
  • It can be integrated with existing portals
  • It can be plugged into line of business applications

These integration points can be managed in an efficient and effective manner either by blueKiwi's specialized engineers or by Certified Partners.divider
2 Migration

blueKiwi has been designed in a way that makes migration of existing content stored on other discussion platforms easy.

To benefit the full range of features of a comprehensive Social Software suite such as blueKiwi  you just have to go through a quick migration process performed by blueKiwi engineers or certified partners.

Unlike other business applications, upgrades to new versions of blueKiwi is a seamless operation that is managed automatically when in SAAS mode or through the application of a migration script when on premises.
